Dear Customers,
The past weeks affected by the weather with the subsequent floods as well as operational problems related to the clearance at the Port of Hamburg after the IT update unfortunately brought us days full of delays. Our effort was to get all the stopped trains and suspended containers at the terminals moving as rapidly as possible.
Last weekend brought us an outlook for a more affirmative improvement of the situation, to which respective factors contributed:
- We gained additional slots at the ports, which greatly helped improve the turnover of train sets, locomotives and staff.
- We deployed additional sets of wagons, as well as short-term rental of locomotives and additional personnel.
We will proceed to monitor the situation today.
However, we will proceed to be affected by restrictions on the main corridor. Since August, a nine-month closure has been in place on the line between Berlin and Hamburg. We expected to be able to cope with the essential detours without any major impact on the quality of our services. However, in combination with the enforced stoppages of our trains on various sections of the railway, this regulation brings considerable complications.
Unfortunately, there is no fast solution to the current situation today. We will gotta proceed to deploy additional resources – locomotives, wagons and staff.
We are sorry we cannot bring you better news. However, we proceed to do our best to improve and stabilise our service.
Please contact our client Service with circumstantial questions.
Thank you for understanding.
