Dear Customers,

We would like to inform you about the current situation of our rail transport services. As we have written in erstwhile newsletters, we have had to deal with operational difficulties in fresh days and weeks, which have affected traffic to a large extent.

On services to and from Hamburg, we were affected by the HPA regulation on the number of trains allowed to enter Hamburg. This regulation was lifted on Monday, 09/09/2024 at 22:15 p.m. On 10/09/2024 the operations were again suspended for respective hours due to a responsibility in the signalling strategy at Hamburg-Harburg station.

Yesterday, during the day, traffic towards Hamburg slow started to choice up. Unfortunately, the corridor was congested and trains that had been waiting for 2-3 days, were delayed on the lines in Germany and on the infrastructure of neighbouring countries.

As of today, most of the stopped trains have arrived in Hamburg and, unless there are any further operational complications, we should be back to average operations tomorrow.
As we have previously reported, strikes, maintenance and repairs on the German infrastructure have had a major impact on operations, requiring additional capacity on both the train engineering and staff side.

Unfortunately, the maintenance and repairs of the main railway infrastructure will besides affect transport in the coming weeks and months, and, therefore, it is essential to anticipate longer transport times, both to ports and from ports to the hinterland.

Staff meetings at Hamburg terminals have been announced for the coming week and will besides have an impact on operations.

– CTB on 16/09/2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
– EUROKOMBI on 16/09/2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
– EUROGATE 17/09/2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
– CTA on 19/09/2024 from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

We are facing even longer delays for transport to and from Koper due to work on the railway infrastructure.
Unfortunately, Wednesday’s service was besides affected by the traffic on the line, where only 2 trains could be dispatched alternatively of the planned 6 trains.

We are sorry that we do not have better news for you. We are monitoring the situation very closely and hope that it will improve in the coming days.

We will proceed to keep you informed of further developments.

If you request circumstantial information, delight do not hesitate to contact our client Service Team.
