We bring you the latest news on the situation in northern ports.
Unfortunately, the operational situation is not improving and, based on weather forecasts, is expected to worsen further. utmost frosts and dense snowfall (20–30 cm of fresh snow) are expected, which will negatively affect the full of Northern Germany, as well as all ports in Northern Europe.
The Port of Hamburg has presently suspended operations. More than 20 cm of snow fell in Bremerhaven today. The situation is akin in another ports in Northern Europe – Gdańsk, Rotterdam, Wilhelmshaven – and we are all waiting to see how the situation will deteriorate or develop.
The current outlook is very negative, and it is expected that there will be no improvement before the first half of next week. Individual infrastructure providers are constantly bringing more bad news.
