Dear Customers,
The main subject of today’s newsletter is Hamburg. Hopes for a quicker improvement in the situation thanks to Monday’s cancellation of train entry regulations rapidly faded yesterday evening. At around 6:00 p.m. on 4 March 2026, a abroad train derailed at the Waltershof Hamburg station, damaging six tracks. The HPA immediately resumed entry control. It must be expected that the vast majority of trains bound for Hamburg are and will stay stopped. We are forced to cancel import trains. The estimated time for eliminating the consequences of the accident is not yet known. Unfortunately, a crucial negative impact on all our services is inevitable.
The complicated passage through Germany is besides causing delays at the Rotterdam and Duisburg services. Here, too, there is already a shortage of trains and locomotives due to their overall disrupted circulation.
Bremerhaven: Access is inactive restricted and train and locomotive traffic is importantly disrupted. Yesterday, a bomb was reported in Bremen, preventing any trains from moving to/from the port.
Wilhelmshaven: Train and locomotive traffic is importantly disrupted.
Germany: Due to an extended vehicle fire in the Engelberg Tunnel (A81), delight anticipate significant delays for truck deliveries in the Kornwestheim area; while the east tube has been partially reopened with a limited number of lanes, the west tube (towards Stuttgart) remains closed indefinitely due to repairs to the damaged infrastructure. delight note that delays in transport may happen even though these circumstances are actively taken into account in current way planning.
Gdańsk: Trains are presently moving with a hold of about 8 hours due to delays in train handling at the BalticHub terminal. Train circulation is besides disrupted due to a long-term closure between METRANS Ostrava and Česká Třebová terminals, which we reported in Newsletter No. 039/2026. The BalticHub terminal has reduced the capacity of planned slots by up to 30% for this week. Imports are full booked until 19 March 2026, and it is not possible to request an extra train at this time.
Our client Service squad will answer any questions you may have about circumstantial shipments.
