Late vessel arrivals and early transportation of export shipments according to first vessel arrival schedules are presently causing congestion in the CTA terminal area.
Despite the intensive usage of all resources and additional interior measures, the delivered export volume presently exceeds the retention capacity available at CTA. To counter this situation, CTA will implement temporary restrictions on the transportation of export containers for all modes of transport.
From Monday, 4 November 2024, the transportation of export containers will so be regulated individually, i.e. CTA reserves the right not to accept railcars with containers for a ship that are delivered earlier than 7 days before its ETA.
