Operational Situation on the German Railway Infrastructure – Update No. 6

Dear Customers,

The closure in the Elbe Valley, which presently takes place only during the day (13 – 16 November 2025, 08:50 – 18:50), is nevertheless importantly complicating the situation on our services to and from Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Wilhelmshaven, Rotterdam, and Duisburg.

In combination with the closure of the main German corridor on the Berlin–Hamburg section, it is importantly restricting the operation of our regular trains and causing delays of 36 – 48 hours.

In addition to the above, another closure will take place present in Dresden from 21:00 to 04:00.

At this moment, the Hamburg port terminals are showing only delays of a fewer hours, but the major backlog from the past fewer days, together with the another mentioned factors, has had a negative impact on the smooth circulation of train sets and staff.

Within the limits of what is possible, we are doing our best to stabilise the situation and to safe the missing capacities where needed.
