Dear Customers,
We would like to inform you about the news from last week.
At the weekend, the first of the Finkenwerder Bridge closures took place in Hamburg, which made the Eurogate and the CT Burchardkai terminals inaccessible. The Hamburg Port Authority has and continues to regulate the entry of trains into the port, resulting in 4 trains of our DE National service being stopped outside Hamburg. The trains of the another services that were stopped during the weekend have already been given approval to enter. We are counting on the gradual simplification of the hold caused by this closure, which is presently around 24 hours in the import direction.
The announced long-term closure Berlin-Hamburg started today. Trains are presently moving on detour routes only with insignificant delays. However, arrivals at the port are affected by the situation described above.
We have received enquiries about the closure of the rail link to/from the port of Bremerhaven at the following times
– 07.08. from 23:00 to 08.08. until 05:00 (6 hours)
– 10.08. from 23:00 to 11.08. until 05:00 (6 hours)
– 02.10. from 07:00 to 06.10. until 08:00 (97 hours)
This is simply a Bremen – Brememerhaven closure which, in August, may origin insignificant delays in our services operating Bremerhaven terminals CT1 – CT4. We plan to bypass the October closure on private infrastructure with diesel traction; the negative impact on our services should so be minimal.
We are constantly monitoring and managing the situation on the full infrastructure, and we will proceed to inform you about its development.
